  	Address: "Redbank"
MRS. EDWARD BAIN. It will be learnt with very deep regret throughout the district that Mrs. Sarah Bain, relict of the late Mr. Edward Bain, "Redbank," North Winton. breathed her last shortly after 8 o'clock yesterday morning. For some time past Mrs. Bain has been suffering from a heart complaint and on Wednesday she had three serious attacks, from which, how ever, she rallied. Late on Wednesday night she was seized with another attack, and from which she never recovered, but died as stated yesterday morning. The news came as a greait shock to those who heard it ; for Mrs Bain, on account of her kindly and generous disposition and un-failing courtesy to all, was one of the most respected residents of this district. For the bereaved family there will be general sympathy. The deceased, who was a daughter of the late Mr. Geo. Withey, was a native of Somersetshire, England, and came out to this colony with her parents when only 7 years of age, in 1847. When 18 years of age she was married at Beechworth to the late Mr. Edward Bain, and she has con-tinued to reside in the Winton district since. She leaves a grown up family, who are all well known and highly respected residents, viz., Messrs. Edward, W. C., Walter, Fredk. A., Hugh and T. C. Bain, Mrs E. H. Bain. Mrs. H. Tomkins, Mrs. R. Roe. and Miss Annie Bain. The remains will be interred in the Be-nalla cometery today, and the cortege will leave Redbank, North Winton punctually at 1 p.m. Benalla Standard (Vic. : 1901 - 1940), Friday 24 December 1909, page 4
